Echeveria Laui

Laui is the quintessential farina lover's rosette. These heavily sugared beauties are chubby, symmetrical and can get quite large with age. Our Laui rosettes will measure in at about 2.5-5" across (just depending on what is available when you make your request, final pricing will reflect the size we were able to obtain). Your rosette may be slightly closed upon arrival depending on time of year.

(Also spelled Lauii depending on the region).

Special Care Instructions and Guarantee

We will guarantee our Laui for a period of 30 days, but please take care to follow our care instructions. You cannot water Laui before she puts out fresh roots. Lauis are highly prone to rot if they are not rooted, so you must protect them from over-watering until they have a way to absorb excess moisture.

Most imported Laui do not ship with roots. The best way to root a Laui is to start with a good quality organic soil. Simply make a small indentation with your finger and lightly push the stem into the organic medium. It is a good idea to remove the plant every few days and mist the soil (very lightly) and replace the plant. This encourages the plant to seek out moisture, without water logging it and risking rot. You can repeat this misting process every couple of days to encourage the plant to root.

Laui can take as long as eight weeks to root and she may lose a few lower leaves during this process depending on the time of year. It's best to try to root Laui under fair conditions, not too cold and not overly hot.

Always protect your Laui from rainfall, during the rooting process and beyond. Not only will it damage her sugary farina, too much water too fast can kill her.

If your Laui fails to root please send us an email at and we'll make sure you are taken care of.
