Avonia Papyracea Namaensis

Avonias have such a unique appearance. The 'arms' of these little guys are white and feature what look like tiny scales (called stipul). These arms curl and bend (almost like a snake). During their blooming season Avonia produce little flowers at the end of each branch.

While we cannot guarantee exact head count, you can typically expect 4-6 long curly branches. Our Papyracea Namaensis specimens generally measures in at about 2.5" across. This plant stay small and will only reach about 5" when fully mature.

Originally found in the Karoo region of the Eastern Cape region of Africa. Growing season is from March to October. These require bright UV conditions to produce flowers. Water regularly from early spring to the first frost. Keep dry over winter and allow the plant to rest.

These will ship with sparse, dormant roots and will need to be rooted. The Avonia Papyracea Namaensis we sell are seed grown in South Korea.

All photos are property of Cedar Creek Farmhouse and feature actual plants we have sold. Coloration of this cultivar may vary depending on time of year and the plants shown in our photos may be either cold stressed or UV stressed. If you wish to use our photos please send us a permission request.
